P'Golf and Dai,

I am now in ROME... it's huge!

My plan is to get to Munich around May 10 or 11th. How far are you from there? Maybe I'll drop by to see you guys first...

I just hope I will survive until that time because I'm running out of money... I don't think I can afford a hotel you talk about, though. I can only sleep at "hostel" for travelers who don't have great budget *it's about 20 euros per nite). I just have to make it through to May 12th when I fly back to Thailand from Munich.

Miss you all...with lots of stories to tell.

Vilseck

Hello,

I am now in Vienna. Totally different flavor from Italy. The bread here is sooo good. They make it with whole grain and add all the seeds, wild rice, etc... The great thing is that it goes with limited budget travelers and will fill you up. It's not cheap, but cheaper than other kinds of food. Now all I´m eating is bread.

They said tried the Schnitzles sausages and stuff... I don't see how it taste different from the ones in USA...but it's expensive, though. Only the sausage without bun...3.5 euros. Add a piece of bread is 50 cents euro. But with all means, life is cheaper here than Italy.

P'golf and Dai, can I come visit you on Friday, May 9, in the evening? Let me know if you will be home. And could you give me your address also? I also sent you an email. If it's convenient, you can give me a reply.

Aaahhh,

It turned out I won't be able to go to P'Golf and Dai's place before 9 pm on Friday. I think I have to meet with you in Sat instead.

What is there to do in Vilsek though? Maybe I can help you with the shopping...like buying a mink coat? It getting hot...so it maybe cheap now...like $100....?

I had a great time today. There's music everywhere today in Vienna. They perform on the street, in the park, or on stage where others can watch for free.... And they are exceptional professional musicians. It will be extremely unusual to see this in the US because musical skills is very expensive... Today there was a rock band playing in the beautiful park with the dim of sunset on the city national cathedral as a background. It was a perfect picture. And people just drank beer and danced for hour and a half (while I tapped my foot, munching on apples I got from street market nearby). The guitar player was actually one of the best I have seen in person too.

Last night I just attended one of Mozart's most well known Opera at Vienna's national Opera House...for 2 euroes (standing ticket)! People came in suits and tuxedo... I walked in with jeans, t shirt, a cap...and actually a backpack... even distinctive than a black sheep in a flock of white doves. (The Thai word for me that day would be 'Ka-Riang'). It's amazing...I could't believe it.

In Europe from place to place, one common thing that blows me away is the gigantic, magnificent churches and religious artforms everywhere I go, from Amsterdam to Austria now. It's indescribable. The beauty of it can easily take your beath away with the artist's skills and imagination.

Can you imagine a cathedral as big as shopping mall? With a dome that can fit a 15 story building? Which was built as early as 16th century? By the way, when there was no technology at all, whatsoever.

You can see it. God has given human the incredible skills and intelligence. But as you can see, all this man-made construction, with such beauty and flawlessness, can actually take man from God as he start to admire the art and the stone rather than worship God. People start to put belief onto the construction rather than God... It's interesting.

More to talk about....later

I FOUND THEM!!!

Yeah Yeah...

At one point I was wondering why P'Golf wanted to be with the Navy. Now I know...to provide me with a place to sleep tonight.

P'Golf and Dai are so nice and provided me with great hospitality. They are like Oasis in European desert, provided me with a bed and warm shower.

When I first got to the train station, there was nobody there...so quiet....and scary...like an old cowboy town. There was not even a public telephone. Thank God the pizza shop across the train station let me use there phone... I finally get to meet with P'Golf and Dai...

I have so many stories to tell. But now I wanna chat with P'Golf and Dai first.
