How is your personal bible study?
What Bible chapter you are reading on now?
Don't forget to share here.

Interestingly, after I have attend Grace's children misnistry class last
sunday, she mentioned about 2 types of christian - Born Again Christian
and Christian just a name. The different is the HOly Spirit, which help
us grow into Christ. When we become born again christian, Holy Spirit
will be working in us. We will want more to grow, more to know the Lord,
and more to follow His Word.

The big question to ask ourselves is "Am I really a Born-Again-Christian?"

Children once they received Jesus Christ into their heart, they will grow
up spiritually. That is very important, because we can be christian for 30
years, without being born again, Holy Spirit did not enter into our heart,
we will never have the fruits of spirit and we can not grow and evangelize
will be very difficult for us.

It is never too late to ask Jesus to come into our heart. You will know
you have the Holy Spirit into your heart if reading bible is what you enjoy!

For me I'm pretty much keeping up with ODB, but as far as reading Bible, not everyday yet. Sad and I know that I should be reading it daily.

For me, I want to start a good habit of morning
devotion by reading Discovery and ODB. Thank God P'Koh sent me the
link that I now can listen to ODB instead of reading it online! This is
wonderful!

Personally, after I done it for awhile, I feel that it does help me keeping
track of what I read. I learn many things from the bible. Here is the
example of the Discovery this morning...

PRAY
Heavenly Father, may Your Holy Spirit feed me on Your Word today.
I come hungry and ready to be fed.

READ

Mark 6:30-44[30] The apostles returned to Jesus from their
ministry tour and told him all they had done and taught. [31] Then Jesus
said, "Let's go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile." He said
this because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and
his apostles didn't even have time to eat. [32] So they left by boat for a
quiet place, where they could be alone. [33] But many people recognized
them and saw them leaving, and people from many towns ran ahead
along the shore and got there ahead of them. [34] Jesus saw the huge
crowd as he stepped from the boat, and he had compassion on them
because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching
them many things. [35] Late in the afternoon his disciples came to him
and said, "This is a remote place, and it's already getting late. [36] Send
the crowds away so they can go to the nearby farms and villages and
buy something to eat." [37] But Jesus said, "You feed them.""With what?"
they asked. "We'd have to work for months to earn enough money to
buy food for all these people!" [38] "How much bread do you have?" he
asked. "Go and find out."They came back and reported, "We have five
loaves of bread and two fish." [39] Then Jesus told the disciples to have
the people sit down in groups on the green grass. [40] So they sat down
in groups of fifty or a hundred. [41] Jesus took the five loaves and two
fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the
loaves into pieces, he kept giving the bread to the disciples so they could
distribute it to the people. He also divided the fish for everyone to share.
[42] They all ate as much as they wanted, [43] and afterward, the
disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftover bread and fish. [44] A total
of 5,000 men and their families were fed from those loaves!

NLT

REFLECT
What attitude did Jesus have toward the crowds following him?

A remote place, green grass, full minds, empty stomachs, a late hour,
scant resources, yet another crowd, grumpy disciples - just the setting for
a miracle! Let's have a picnic in the park to cheer everyone up! However,
Jesus' miraculous feeding of the 5,000 men (plus women and children)
was not performed in a random or haphazard way; it had purpose.

First of all, it was to glorify God - "looking up to heaven, he gave thanks
and broke the loaves" (41).

Second, it met a genuine human need - hunger. It was an expression of
Jesus' care for the body as well as the soul (42).

Third, it drew the disciples into cooperating with Jesus in God's mission to
the world. Rather than sending people away with their needs unmet (36),
the disciples were taught to assess the available resources, inadequate as
these might appear, and offer them to the Lord for multiplication (3Cool.

As they cooperated, so the miracle took place, and all were satisfied (42).

APPLY
What "resources" do you have to give to Jesus? Will you let him use them
to meet the needs of others?

PRAY
Father, help me to bring my meager resources to You so You may
multiply them and satisfy the needs of those around me.

BTW, I always thought Jesus miracle when
feeding 5000 men was to make 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish into 12
basket full....but I was wrong! Beside that, it was 5,000men plus their
family...so it could be double or triple the number of people there easily!
Wow!
