I just read the Bible in Galatians 5:22-23 and I've got a significant message from Dr. John C. Maxwell's complementaty regards the leadership qualities in these verses as follows:

Probably the most memorable verses in this book are those that list the 'fruit of the Spirit.' Fruit results from planted seeds. When seeds grow, they bear fruit. Fruit represents outward, visible behavior; Every leader should embrace this marvelous list of inward qualities. Evaluate yourself against them:

1) LOVE: Is my leadership motivated by love for people?
2) JOY: Do I exhibit an unshakable joy, regardless of circumstances?
3) PEACE: Do people see my inward peace and take courage?
4) LONGSUFFERING: Do I wait patiently for results as I develop people or goals?
5) KINDNESS: Am I caring and understnading toward everyone I meet?
6) GOODNESS: Do I want the best for others and the organization?
7) FAITHFULNESS: Have I kept my commitments to the mission?
8 GENTLENESS: Is my strength under control? Can I be both tough and tender?
9) SELF-CONTROL: Am I disciplined to make progress toward my goals?

PJade,
Thank you for your message. It's really good to be reminded every now and then about the "fruit of spirit". It really make me rescrutinize myself to see if the "fruit of spirit" is instilled into my daily life.

I also like what Maxwell shared about the loop of leadership as well.

Leading peers is not a one-time event. It’s an ongoing process. When leading across, the temptation is to try to take the lead too quickly. Taking shortcuts or cheating the process will erode your respect from others rather than gaining influence with them.

1. Caring – Take an interest in people. People always move toward anyone who increases them and away from anyone who decreases them.

2. Learning – Get to know people Invest the time to understand the values that motivate your fellow leaders.

3. Appreciating – Respect people Find and encourage the strengths unique to each of your colleagues. Assume they have your best interests in mind, and be open to their ideas and concerns.

4. Contributing – Add value to people Few activities add to a leader’s credibility like the dedication to add value to the people around them – especially when the leader is neither obligated to add value nor receiving direct benefit from doing it. Adding value to peers lets them know that you are on their side and are cheering for them to win.

5. Verbalizing – Affirm people To affirm signifies to make firm. An affirmation is a statement of truth you make firm by repetition. Affirmations enable others to believe in their dreams. For people to reach their potential, their dreams must become more real than their doubts.

6. Leading – Influence people Understand, enlarge, and empower those who are leading beside you.

7. Succeeding – Win with People When you succeed with people, you gain opportunities to influence even more people. The leadership loop completes a cycle and begins anew. As additional people enter your life, you must again choose to take an interest in them, get to know them, etc.

Salvation is the great thought of God, not an experience. Experience is simply the door through which salvation comes into the conscious level of our life so that we are aware of what has taken place on a much deeper level.

Thanks Petch.

This leadership loop is to perform as peer-to-peer situation, and it's an affect from you to influence others.

However, prior we can do that, we have to be built from within... the heart of a leader who owned by God.

Some scholars are debating about a leader is born to be or a leader can be built... in both case, it has to be built by the fruit of the Spirit. even you born to be a leader but if you didn't have God's Spirit in your life, it's worth nothing, influent no one, and exhausted to your own spirit.

but if you are a leader who God's Spirit is in you, your Spiritual Fruits will naturally influent others by your word, your reaction, your thought, your behaviors, your approach to others.... and also, you no need to push yourself so hard to be a leader because it will be your nature to lead others.

Leadership is a significant characteristic God created for human being. It's a distinguish quality of a person who God owns his/her heart

You're right Koh,

It should be a self-navigator in our daily life that we have to check in often.

it's a high recommendation tip to live our spiritual life up to God's glory everyday that we have to check up our Holy engines every once in a while. Making sure that our lives are up right to God and haven't have any weird things hidden in our heart.

That why we can be filled by the Holy Spirit with holy joy and peace in our hearts and can live our lives through tough circumstance with confidence in God's grace.

We are living in a time of tremendous enterprises, a time when we are trying to work for God, and that is where the trap is. Profoundly speaking, we can never work for God. Jesus, as the Master Builder, takes us over so that He may direct and control us completely for His enterprises and His building plans; and no one has any right to demand where he will be put to work.

God takes His own time to prepare us for service. Sometimes that period of waiting is as valuable as learning all the needed strategies and goals. Joshua observed Moses’ faith in God. He learned what it meant to be humble (Num. 12:3), how to take instruction (Ex. 17:10), and how to be a true servant of God (Josh. 1:1; 24:29). Even a display of Moses’ temper (Num. 20:7-12) was an opportunity to watch and learn. By spending time with Moses, Joshua learned things that couldn’t be learned from a book.

Joshua’s own time to lead was coming. And when it came, he was able to trust God’s promise to him: “As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you” (Josh. 1:5). — Cindy Hess Kasper

People who become great leaders
Sometimes need to learn
How to serve and follow others—
Then they’ll get their turn. —Sper

A person who is not willing to follow is not prepared to lead.
