Today the ODB is very encouraging. This weeks I have so many things to take care at the shop. There are quite many things that I worry. The Odyssy Van has some engine problem and next monday I have to take to the CHP for inspection. It might not be done on time.

This week I plan to close the shop for 4th of July weekend, but we still have a lot of job to be done. ... worry...

Whenever a preacher begins to talk about worry, I sense a pair of eyes staring at me. Without even turning my head, I know that my husband is looking at me to see if I’m paying attention.

I hate to admit it, but I’m a worrier. And precisely because there are a lot of people just like me, Jesus addressed this problem in Matthew 6:25-34 when He said: “Do not worry.” Don’t worry about the basic needs of life—food, clothing, shelter—and don’t worry about tomorrow.

Worry may be a symptom of a bigger problem. Sometimes it’s a lack of gratitude for the way God has cared for us in the past. Or perhaps it’s a lack of faith that God really is trustworthy. Or it may be a refusal to depend on God instead of ourselves.

Some people expand the worry circle to their families, friends, and churches. They’re a lot like the 10 spies in Numbers 13:26-33 who spread their fear and doubt to everyone else. But those who put their trust in God alone can stand alongside Joshua and Caleb, the only ones in the group of 12 whom God allowed to enter the Promised Land.

Don’t let worries hold you back from what God may be trying to teach you. He invites you to bring your anxious thoughts directly to Him (Phil. 4:6). — Cindy Hess Kasper

Definitely true...

worrying is a negative tool satan uses to block us from receiving a blessing of God... it can be spreaded all over every part in our lives and flow out to others who are surrounding us mentally and spiritually.

I dare say this because I had experienced it in my past... it likes a poison in our faith that feed us daily with worry and gradually, we died from faith. It reminds me of how we response and what attitudes we have toward an anxiety--because the attitudes always demonstrate our foundation of life, if we lay our foundation in Christ as a solid rock of our soul, we wouldn't be shaken by outter circumstances; on the other hands, if we lay our foundation on any shakable grounds, when we face the storm of life.... we'll be blown away (gone with the wind per se) with doubt and worry.

To live our lives safely in this shakable world is not easy; but not too hard. Just realize the truth that 'in God nothing impossible' and 'if it's God's will everything will be just fine' also, 'Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God'--Phil.4:6, NASB.

Everytime I worry, I always rely on God's promises to help guarding my heart from this soul-dreaded poison, and also, I pray to receive God's strength that nourish my soul. as the ODB author said here:

I’m a worrier myself too. Much worse before I knew God, but as a human being, you're worried about many things. We need to learn to trust Him more. During this tough time, I've learned to be more patient and thank you for his uncondition love and plans for all of us. The answers were not always yes but I could see why now.
